In the second semester, the programme will continue to be digital and multimedia. However, students, armed with multi-platform skills acquired in the first semester, will choose one of the following three Concentrations:
a) Digital Journalism 1
b) Digital Journalism 2 and
c) Video and Audio Journalism.
The Digital Journalism 1 concentration will incorporate multimedia storytelling techniques that will enable students to go beyond text and photographs and use audio and video to showcase their web-based news reports.
The Digital Journalism 2 concentration will get students to put into practice the skills they have acquired for the print format and produce broadsheets with well laid out and aesthetically appealing pages with hard hitting stories and photographs.
The Video and Audio Journalism concentration will cover broadcast and niche formats, visual framing and treatment for different screens and contexts, and podcast as a genre.
