TRAINING PROGRAMME ON FREEDOM & RESPONSIBILITY IN THE MEDIA
FROM MAY 24 - JUNE 4, 2010

The Asian College of Journalism in association with the International Institute for Journalism, Berlin, is holding a Summer Academy on Freedom and Responsibility in the South Asian Media for young journalists from the SAARC countries.
The summer academy, which is a training programme, will be held over two weeks - from Monday May 24 to Friday June 4, 2010 at the Asian College of Journalism, Chennai.
The aim of the programme is to enhance the quality of journalism in South Asia. The target group is young journalists from newspapers, news agencies and online media. They should not be older than 32 years and should have at least two years professional experience. The course will be in English and cover a broad range of issues in the field of journalism.
Each media organisation can nominate a suitable candidate for this training programme. Please let us have the nominations by March 15, 2010. The candidate could email her/his CV, with a covering note indicating the nominating organisation to malini.acj@gmail.com
Where the participants want the travel cost to be met by the organizers, intimation in writing to this effect may please be sent to us and this can be arranged. The boarding and lodging while in Chennai during the days of the Summer Academy will be taken care of by us.
